I wrote this yesterday...

I was picking my motorcycle up from the shop this evening which is in a pretty
industrial part of town. The shop itself is in a big warehouse complex so there
wasn't much traffic. In fact, besides myself and the folks in the shop, there
was no one else around. Then a car pulled up and an older Asian gentleman got
out and walked with determination into the shop. As he passed me, I noticed the
panda puppet on his arm. We made eye contact and he made the panda wave at me
earnestly. He asked the guys inside a question and they waved their arms around.
He nodded and came back outside. As he passed I said, "Excuse me, can I take a
picture of your panda?" He replied in a voice like a small child. "Ooooookay."
So I did. And here it is.

These are the moments that make life so special.

This afternoon at a barbecue the dog that lived at the house was very interested
in the things being cooked and was precariously close to the grill. Steve
reached out and tried to pull her away to keep her from getting burned
and she turned around and bit him quite viciously, breaking the skin on his
thumb in three places. He played it off like it was no big deal but I know
that feeling well. Just trying to help and everything backfires. When we got
home Bean was as happy as ever to see us. We snuggled her and tried to figure
out if there was any situation possible in the world that would cause her to
bite a human and couldn't come up with anything. She is the best dog ever.
