Today at work a bird bit me so hard I could see my meat! It missed a vein by
about a millimeter. About three minutes later I was holding a rabbit, trying
to bathe it, and I started going into shock. Wacky good times - nearly blacking
out on the floor of the treatment room. We were crazy busy however and there
was no time to slow down. I drank a glass of water and proceded into surgery
where I brilliantly put an 18 gauge needle through my finger and out the other
side. I was waiting for the rat patient to wake up from anesthesia though and
couldn't leave it alone so I bandaged myself with masking tape, the only thing
within reach.
Big fun at the animal hospital!
Later the Boston Terrier rescue people came to bring Vera to her new home. She
trotted away happily with her rope toy in her mouth, not a care in the world.
Have a good life, little Vera.
