Here are some things that happened today.
- I was nuzzled by a wallaby
- A fennec fox wagged its tail at me when I brought it breakfast. So excited!
- An owl monkey sat on my lap and cooed
- A porcupine chewed on my pants
- A baby opposum stuck to me and wrapped its prehensile tail around my finger
- I went swimming. It felt really good. (Mmm Morely field)
- I went to Iain's and hung the trapeze. I was too tired to do much but it
still felt reassuring to sit on it and climb around.
- Bean and I visited Morely field dog run (twice in one day!)
- I started a new kombucha batch
- I went for a walk around 7:30 pm and walked past a house where a family was
sitting down for dinner. It was a teenage girl and her mother and father
and they were eating and engaging in conversation and laughing.
Random memory access time. When I was 6 or 7 I went to summer camp / day care
at the YWCA in downtown Santa Cruz. It was run by some hippie women. There
was a big walnut tree in the yard and after climbing around in it, your hands
would smell so good. We played with big metal trucks. Maybe they were Tonkas.
I filled the bed of one with water once and then got very concerned that it
would rust. The hippie women taught me how to make scratchboard with crayons.
(Color a sheet of paper like a rainbow then go over it with very thick solid
black. Then take a pencil or ball point pen and draw on the black. It will
scratch away and you will have a rainbow drawing underneath.)
